“How is it already eight o’clock?!”

“How is it already eight o’clock?!”

The voice comes from under a beach umbrella, with that tone that says it all. It’s real, spontaneous, beautiful joy. It’s the voice of someone who has had such a full and carefree day that they didn’t notice time passing.

It’s a mum. She holds her phone in her hand as proof, her mouth still open, her eyes wide. Next to her, her partner laughs. The two children are playing innocently in the sand, they don’t understand the situation because for them, playing at the beach all day is like being in paradise.

That voice says it all. The surprise, of course. But also that subtle touch of sweet disappointment, of “what a shame, I really loved this day, I don’t want it to end.”
And when you think about it, it’s perfectly understandable. At Altamarea Beach Village, time seems to follow rules of its own.

It’s not measured by a clock, but by the encounters and events that fill the day.

With the intense heat of the last few days, perhaps that family arrived early in the morning and went straight into the sea, maybe with a big colourful inflatable. Then the children built a sandcastle, made friends with the people under the neighbouring umbrellas and, as soon as they saw the entertainers appear, they ran towards the gazebo without even looking back.

While they were having fun with games, creative workshops with Daniela and meetings with the Marevivo marine biologists, discovering the wonders of the sea, mum and dad finally found something that always seems to be missing during the year: time. Time to watch their children play without thinking about the hour, to chat, or to enjoy an aquagym class with Rosa. For once, the only appointment to keep is to enjoy these moments together.

Lunch arrives already. Not because it’s 12.00, but because hunger starts to make itself felt. The family still hasn’t looked at their phones, they’re living to the rhythm of Altamarea, accompanied by the activities, by the “toum toum toum toum” coming from the entertainment gazebo and by the events that bring the square to life. There’s always something new, something intriguing that makes you want to stop and see what’s happening.

The afternoon perhaps goes by even faster. Another dip is a must, because it’s impossible to resist that sea which, during the hottest hours, becomes the perfect refuge. But then, the family gets ready for the various tournaments: table football for the children and beach volleyball for the parents.

Mini club, a dip in the pool, fitness…

At 4.00 pm, there’s another new appointment: a live radio show from the beach, with music, quizzes and a celebration of the culture of the 80s and 90s. Two hours that took the parents back in time! They shared all their memories and their favourite songs with their children.

Straight afterwards, baby dance! You never miss baby dance!

Then the family went back to their beach umbrella to relax.

And it’s precisely then that the mum finally picks up her phone. She looks at the screen, her eyes widen and she smiles:

“How is it already eight o’clock?!”

At Altamarea Beach Village, time doesn’t pass any faster than anywhere else. You simply stop chasing it for a few hours.

And when you realise that it’s already evening, it means just one thing: that day was truly lived.
