Altamarea’s Twin Soul

Altamarea’s Twin Soul

There is the Altamarea of high summer: every umbrella taken, children running everywhere, music, jacuzzis, fitness, the pool, dancing, evenings and special events. The Altamarea we know well and love, energetic, alive, sun-drenched. But there is another Altamarea, one that only reveals itself in September, quieter, more hushed. As if the beach had a twin soul, waiting until the last moment to show itself. Both are captivating; neither exists without the other.

The September twin is more intimate. Having danced without pause all summer long, she now takes the time to breathe. And so the beach invites you to slow down, to close your eyes, to savour your coffee a little more slowly, to breathe deeply on a walk along the shoreline and to drink in the calm of the beach, where the constant hum of chatter has finally fallen quiet.

Perhaps September is the month we savour most, because we all know the end is near. So before the sunbeds are folded away, before the umbrellas are furled and tied tight, we take one last swim, even if the water is no longer as warm as it once was.

September’s soul is a wise one. It reflects, it takes stock of the summer. The visitors, the entertainment, the evenings, the events. It looks back in order to improve, to offer something new each year, to always stay one step ahead and delight every one of its beloved guests. September is also a time for gratitude. Thank you to all those who worked to offer such a special service and welcome, thank you to the visitors for their presence and their enthusiasm. Thank you to the sun for warming us, to the sea for cooling us.

The lifeguards begin, little by little, to carry out small tasks in preparation for the end of the season. In their gestures and in their eyes you can read a quiet nostalgia at the thought of leaving summer behind. Altamarea’s lifeguards carry the beach in their hearts, and it shows every day, in every season of the year.
