The Sounds of Altamarea: A Sweet Summer Symphony
Today, I’m taking you on a journey through the characteristic sounds of Altamarea, a sound diary to be read like a summer playlist.
“Oneee. Twooo. Three!” shout two children as they prepare to dive into the sea. A huge “SPLASHHHH” echoes as water splashes those around them. A few seconds later, the steady “swoosh swoosh” of the gentle waves resumes.
“Ohlaaalaaaah mais oui oui bien sûr,” two French women chat on their loungers, while next to them, “Zzzzzzz,” a man takes a nap. “Fsh”, a little further away, a girl flips through the pages of her crime novel.

“Ninety-six, ninety-seven… Mmh mmh mmh…” Marta is helping two Altamarea guests find their spot, reciting the umbrella numbers. “Aaaaaaah,” just behind her, a little girl slips from her father’s supervision and runs with a fast “tap tap tap tap” of her bare feet across the wooden walkway. “Thaliaaaa!” her father shouts as he chases after her.
“Ciao… ciaoooo, ciao,” repeats Mirco, an almost two-year-old boy chasing after an older German girl. “Gnam gnam”, the girl ignores him, happily munching on some sand. Speaking of flavors, “psssshit”, at the Africo bar, soda cans pop open, a few beers follow, and there’s also the “ting ting” of teaspoons stirring sugar into coffee. “Mmmmmh”, ice creams are savored here without restraint and spark conversations, like the group of teens debating the best flavor.
The “vrrrrrrr,” “blub blub blub,” and “pshhhhhh” of the jacuzzis are barely heard anymore, drowned out by the joyful screams and laughter of Italian and German children. “Ploc ploc ploc”, goes the water dripping as they come out of the sea.
“Uuuufffa,” sighs a man who has just settled on his lounger. The wind has picked up slightly, and its “shhhh” weaves through the leaves and flowers that decorate the beach.
“Ahahahahah”, powerful, joyful laughter echoes from the Altamarea reception: Diego and Manuela are in charge and sharing their enthusiasm.
“Boom boom boom boom cuoricini, cuoricini, pensavi solo ai cuoricini, cuoricini…” The new entertainment team already has guests and locals dancing and singing to the music coming from the freshly installed speakers.
They’re ready, because tomorrow, Saturday the 30th, the animation program begins. The weekend promises to be full of beauty and sensation!
