On your first day, you discover everything.

You discover where your beach umbrella is, where the bar is, where the entertainment square is, where the pool overlooking the sea is. You look at the week’s programme and wonder where to start. You look out at the sea, find your way around the different colours of the beach and begin to get to know this completely new place. As soon as you arrive at reception, the children hold their parents’ hands, curious about everything around them. Everything is new.

The first faces of the lifeguards, Daniela, Diego, Mirella, or Manuela, are still those of complete strangers. Maybe you’ve spoken on the phone, maybe you haven’t. But they immediately welcome you as if they’ve known you forever, and you know you’ve chosen the right place.

It’s the Romagna way of welcoming people. You can’t learn it, you can’t fake it, you simply feel it!

The smiling Alessia or the calm Gabriel puts your village wristband on you, walks you to your beach umbrella with a smile and answers all your questions. They make you feel that you’re in the right place straight away. Even if it’s your first time here, it doesn’t feel like it. The entertainers introduce themselves to the children, who watch them with a mixture of curiosity and a little shyness at first…

That’s normal. It’s the first day. And the first day is mostly about discovering things.

But then something happens. Slowly, almost without you noticing, Altamarea Beach Village starts to become your place. Saying “good morning” to the lifeguards becomes more and more spontaneous. They already know so much about you, your habits, they ask how your holiday is going or tell you a few words about the sea that morning.

They’re no longer just the people looking after the beach umbrellas.

You discover that Rosa’s fitness class starts at 4.30 pm and afterwards, you stop for a quick chat, but those two minutes quickly become twenty, and you’re perfectly happy with that. You discover that there’s always someone at the entertainment gazebo to exchange a few words with, and that Elia already knows the answer to your question before you’ve even asked it.

It doesn’t take long for the children: they’re already running around, they know all the entertainers’ names and they’re already preparing the musical.

Even with the people under the neighbouring umbrellas, on the first day you exchange a shy smile. Then comes a question: “Where are you from?”. The children start playing together, you talk about the heat or the sea. Without even realising it, those unfamiliar faces become part of your everyday life. Then one day, you find yourselves renting a pedal boat together as if it were the most natural thing in the world!

They’re tiny details, almost invisible, but they’re the things that make every day feel a little more familiar.

There’s something in the soul of this beach that makes everyone feel at home.

Even the dogs. Because they’re treated as what they are, members of the family. You can see it in the way they move around, and in the way their owners relax, knowing that their dog is welcome here.

And so, little by little, you fall into the rhythm of Altamarea Beach Village.

When it’s time to leave, you don’t take home only the memory of the sea and the days spent on the beach. You leave with the feeling that you’ve found a place that now knows you. And with the certainty that Altamarea Beach Village is already waiting for you next summer.
